DecibelNotes exists because most transcription services treat your audio as
their asset. We built the opposite. This page says what we do with your data —
in plain language, because it's short enough not to need legalese.
Your recordings
- Audio is processed on hardware we own and operate — it is
never sent to a third-party AI provider (no OpenAI, no Google, no
Amazon transcription APIs).
- The original recording is deleted automatically the moment
transcription succeeds. We do not keep audio.
- We never train AI models on your recordings or transcripts.
Your transcripts
- Transcripts and summaries are stored only until their retention period
ends (72 hours on trial, 30 days–1 year on paid plans), then deleted
automatically.
- Share links you create expire after 7 days.
- Only you (and people you explicitly share a link with) can see your
transcripts.
Your account
- We store: your email address, plan, usage minutes, and (if you add one)
a passkey public key. Sign-in is via one-time email links — we never
store passwords.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store
card numbers.
- Sign-in emails are delivered via Resend. That is the only data
(your email address) that ever touches a third-party service.
Questions or deletion requests
Email us and we'll delete your account and all associated data promptly.
Most of it deletes itself before you'd ever need to ask.
